Your Proper Invitation

03 Oct

To Whom?  Why to you, dear reader

For What?  A literary adventure reading Pride and Prejudice

Starting When?  Starting as soon as we finish GT (which could be any day, so search your bookshelves or order your copy!)

Where?  In your own home and here on the blog… for that matter, in your car, in line at the grocery store, at the library, etc…

Why? In the hopes of achieving the classical education we never had.

Now wasn’t that concise?

Here’s the wordier plea.  I quote the back of my copy of Pride and Prejudice.

Jane Austen’s radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England.

This will be a refreshing change of pace: a book written about a woman by a woman.  Wouldn’t you like to join us?

So, girls, how is the reading coming along? Find any time yet?

I’m seven chapters in and loving it. Woohoo! And you?

10 chapters…and ditto on the loving it. I have been placing my chair in the sunshine the last two afternoons as my children play and soaking up the rays of sun from the sky as well as from Austen’s pen. 🙂
