A Very Bad Idea

09 Mar

paramour – n. a lover, usually in an adulterous relationship

Classical Usage:  Chillingworth is “interviewing,” as the chapter title says, Hester about her affair and asks her not to reveal his identity as her husband, “Thou hast kept the secret of thy paramour.  Keep, likewise, mine!”

Classically Mad Usage: We have paralegals, paramedics, paraeducators, why not paraloves?  When your actual lawyer, doctor, teacher or husband isn’t available you can  call one of these guys.  Plus, they cost less.  Uh . . . not so much, thank you.
