Processional Crucifix
Our Savior Lutheran Church

If you’re a sailor or a whaler there are no days off at sea.  Gladly, we are not at sea.

So, for these Holy Days we will push back our bowls of cod chowder to instead be fed the Body and Blood of Christ for the forgiveness of our sins.  We’ll be stepping off the Pequod and taking our places in the Ark of the Holy Church.  We will stop following Ishmael’s difficult journey as we listen intently to Jesus’ journey to the cross. We will put aside an Ahab held captive by revenge and seeking to conquer Moby-Dick to hear how our Lord could not be held captive by Death and conquered the devil on our behalf.

Blessed Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday to you.
