Boy Meets Girl

22 Jun

Boy meets girl.   No, no, no…that’s not exactly it.   Let me start over:

Boy is pushed to marry Girl by his interfering mother.

Boy marries Girl.

Boy becomes interested in Girl #2.

Girl #1 dies.

Boy marries Girl #2.

Boy is besotted with Girl #2.

Girl #2 is besotted with Boy.  You’d hope so, but nope.  Try again.

Girl #2 thinks she made a mistake.  She’s bored.

Girl #2 pines away.

Girl #2 gets pregnant and has a daughter.

Girl #2 meets Boy #2 and falls in love.

Boy #2 moves away.

Girl #2 pines away (again).

(Boy #1 still besotted, in case you were wondering.)

Girl #2 targeted by Boy #3 and skillfully played.

Girl #2 falls hard for Boy #3.

They have an affair.

Boy #3 getting bored with Girl #2.

And we’re only half done?!?!

This is crazy.  I think Hollywood should grab a hold of this one.   Now – who should play the leads…

This is one crazy story. I will have to join Christine in watching some sort of movie version. And I’m really going to have trouble with empathy for the characters in this book, SWB!
