NOT Classic Words of the Day

28 Feb

So here are some Huck- and Jim-isms thrown together.   See if you can figure out the interpretation (without looking it up first).    As I read, I’m writing some of the “richer” ones down.  Not that I want to work them into conversation, mind you, but just for a good laugh.   I’m even thinking about getting a good audio book just to hear some of them aloud.  Any good suggestions, fellow readers?

Well, here goes:

After five seegars, I located a towhead, but like a chucklehead I was given the fan-tods by an unexpected mud-turkle and missed it completely!

I’m stumped. I don’t even remember reading this sentence! I cannot wait to see the answer.

Well, it wasn’t in the book like that – I just made it up from words that Huck and Jim used in various places. Want to guess?
