Crochet House of MirthChristine pointed out to me today that we’re going to have to change the Official Hobby of Classic Case of Madness.  Out with the knitting fates, in with the crocheting Aunt Peniston.

Mrs. Peniston . . . laid down her crochet-work and turned abruptly from her oblique survey of Fifth Avenue.

It’s true though, that in the above passage from Chapter 11 she is really more concerned that the term “hooker,” if applied to her niece, would have no connection to yarn and lace doilies.
